Physician-Led Neurological Care

Procedures & Advanced Assessments

Targeted treatment and thoughtful assessment—selected according to your neurological needs.

Dr. Cardiel integrates office-based headache procedures with advanced cognitive, imaging, biomarker, metabolic, hormonal, sleep, and lifestyle assessment when the information is likely to clarify a diagnosis or meaningfully guide care.

Headache Medicine

Headache & Neurological Procedures

These procedures may be recommended as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for migraine, headache disorders, facial pain, and related neurological conditions. Office-based treatment includes Botox® for chronic migraine and selected nonsurgical headache procedures using local anesthetic when clinically appropriate.

Special Interest: Headache Medicine

Botox® for Chronic Migraine

OnabotulinumtoxinA injections following the established PREEMPT treatment protocol.

Occipital Nerve Blocks

Targeted local-anesthetic injections for selected posterior head and headache pain patterns.

Trigeminal Nerve Blocks

Selected peripheral nerve blocks for appropriate facial or anterior headache pain patterns.

Trigger-Point Injections

Local treatment of selected muscular pain generators that may contribute to headache or neck pain.

SPG Blocks

Sphenopalatine ganglion blocks for selected headache and facial-pain presentations.

Cognition & Long-Term Brain Health

Cognitive, Brain Health & Longevity Assessment

Advanced tools may be incorporated when clinically appropriate to better understand cognitive performance, brain aging, and potentially modifiable factors that influence neurological health. The objective is to select useful assessments—not to order every available test.

Cognitive Assessment

  • Validated digital cognitive testing
  • Memory and cognitive-performance evaluation
  • Longitudinal cognitive tracking when clinically useful

Advanced Neuroimaging

Advanced neuroimaging may be considered when clinically indicated to help evaluate cognitive symptoms, neurodegenerative conditions, and patterns associated with brain aging.

Brain Health Biomarkers

Laboratory assessment may address metabolic health, vascular risk, inflammation, lipid metabolism, and selected clinically appropriate or emerging biomarkers associated with cognitive health and neurological resilience.

Findings may help identify potentially modifiable contributors to cognitive symptoms, brain aging, migraine vulnerability, fatigue, and neurological function.

Sleep & Wearable Data

  • Sleep tracking and sleep-related physiological monitoring
  • Review and interpretation of wearable-device data when it can inform neurological care

An Integrated Neurological Perspective

Precision Metabolic, Hormonal & Lifestyle Assessment

Because sleep, metabolism, hormonal health, physical fitness, and body composition can influence neurological function, selected patients may benefit from a more detailed physiological assessment. The scope is individualized according to clinical needs and goals.

01

Hormonal & Neuroendocrine

Laboratory assessment of hormonal and metabolic factors that may influence cognition, sleep, migraine patterns, energy, and neurological performance.

When appropriate, care is coordinated with gynecologists, endocrinologists, primary-care physicians, and other specialists involved in the patient’s treatment.

02

Metabolic Health

  • Continuous glucose monitoring when clinically indicated
  • Evaluation of insulin resistance and glucose regulation
  • Metabolic biomarker assessment
03

Body Composition & Fitness

  • SECA medical body-composition analysis
  • DEXA body-composition scanning
  • Heart-rate variability assessment
  • VO₂ max testing
  • Resting metabolic-rate analysis by indirect calorimetry using the Breezing Pro™ wellness platform
Selected testing through external facilities

Important context: These assessments are considered selectively as part of a broader neurological, migraine, cognitive, or brain-health evaluation. They are not standalone hormone therapy, endocrinology, obesity-medicine, fitness-testing, or imaging services. SECA analysis, DEXA scanning, VO₂ max testing, indirect calorimetry, and other outside services are performed by selected external facilities when appropriate; availability and separate facility fees may vary. Breezing Pro™ is used as a lifestyle and wellness assessment platform rather than as a standalone diagnostic service.

The appropriate next step begins with a neurological evaluation.

Procedures and advanced assessments are recommended only when Dr. Cardiel determines that they are clinically appropriate and likely to contribute meaningfully to diagnosis, treatment, or monitoring.
